LOTS OF WIND OFF THE BAJA PACIFIC COAST
FOR JUANCHYS AGUILAR'S PANGA KAROL

Dec. 3, 2005, Juanchys Aguilar, La Bocana, Baja California Sur, Mexico, Fishing:

Al Johnson of Newport Beach, California, came and went fishing for grouper on the charter panga Karol. We caught only one grouper of 20 to 25 pounds. Six more fish got away from us, very big fish. We were fishing off La Bocana in 28 feet of water depth, with 80-pound line, no leader, 6/0 hook. There was wind from the south at 10 knots, water visibility 30 percent, Baja fishing water temperature 65 degrees. We caught no yellowtail.

This week, we had lots of wind in our Pacific coast Baja fishing area at La Bocana from Monday to Thursday, from the northeast up to 21 knots, and also from the north northwest at 17 to 21 knots.

Fishing in Laguna la Bocana, we have caught halibut while sportfishing, medium cabrilla, and grouper, medium sized. All of these grouper we are returning to the water since this area is a nursery for these fish and the future of fishing here. Thus, we are hoping to create good Baja fishing conditions for grouper.
