FISHING WITH CAPT. MANUEL CORTEZ AT BAHIA DE LAS ANIMAS

Met some friends in Bahia de los Angeles, fishing Saturday with Manual Cortez in the Las Animas area, 4 yellowtail boated for 4 anglers and lots of nuisance Cabrilla. Other angler went 25 miles north of Bahia de los Angeles and claimed 8 YT. Overall not good unless your a bottom fish person, not my bag. Highway 1 was excellent all the way down, Bahia de los Angeles road was excellent except the last 5 miles are graded dirt in the process of repaving. Squeezed for 3 beers by the Army checkpoint at L.A. Bay, never experienced that before. Maybe they had just torn up the road when we went thru. It was very smooth but only 1 lane wide in the graded section It was the Army doing the armas/drugas check, and at a prior stop they squeezed my buddy for a 2 liter bottle of soda. I found it to be unusual.
