WINDS KEEPING FISHERMEN ASHORE AT BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES

Dec. 31, 2004, Abraham Vazquez, Camp Gecko, Bahia de los Angeles, Baja California, Mexico Fishing:

There has not been much as far as fishing in the Bahia de los Angeles area. There has been wind out of the north for many days, and then out of the west, so nobody has been able to even try for some good fishing around L.A. Bay. There were some nice halibut caught from the shore, in the 10 to 15-pound range. This is very unusual because the net fisherman don't let them get close to Bahia de los Angeles, but I think they also have not been fishing because of the bad winds. The temperature has not been bad at all, in the low 70s during the day and the mid-50s during the night. Bahia de los Angeles has not gotten any rain from the last couple of storms in the past few days, and it looks like the winds are going to give us a break now for a bit. There are lots of people down here for the holidays. The new Bahia de los Angeles gas station not ready yet. The road is great, and water temperature at Bahia de los Angeles is in the low 60s.
