WILDFLOWERS IN BLOOM AFTER DESERT RAINS

Feb. 18, 2005, Abraham Vazquez, Camp Gecko, Bahia de los Angeles, Baja California, Mexicos:

The weather at Bahia de los Angeles is nice, 70 degrees during the day and 59 at night. The humidity is 75% and there has not been much wind at all. The water temperature is a cold 60 degrees in the bay, and the fishing for yellowtail is great, in the 15 to 25 pound range at Guadalupe reef, on the iron. They are at their usual winter homes and very easy to hook. If you like catching yellows this is a very good time to come down.

The road is in great shape, and soon I will have the new boat ready to replace the Gecko III. I got a Chris Craft 25 footer to replace it, and it will be named the Gecko IV. The gas station is almost ready to open.

There was lots of rain down here a week ago, and the desert is showing it. There are flowers all over and even the rocks look green.
