YELLOWTAIL FISHING EMERGES FROM FULL MOON LULL

June 24, 2005, Abraham Vazquez, Camp Gecko, Bahia de los Angeles village report, Baja California, Mexico:

Fishing for yellowtail at Bahia de los Angeles (L.A. Bay) has continued to be good. There were a few slow days because of the full moon, but now fishing is back to full swing again. Most of the yellows are small, 6-8 pounds, and there are some 15-20 pounders mixed in. The hot spots have been behind Horse Head Island and south of Piojo Island. Bait is getting harder to make at Bahia de los Angeles, but the fish are hitting the jigs also. The water temperature is 72-74 degrees, and the weather has been very humid, in the upper 80's, with lows in the mid 70's. There are also a few groupers being caught and the usual bottom fish. The road is in great condition and gas is cheap.

There are millions of bees around the Bahia de los Angeles area this year. I guess it has to do with all the rain we had early on and all the spring bloom. In fact, I would recommend that if somebody is allergic to bee stings, they should carry their "epi pen" just in case. An "epi pen" is a self-injectable dose of epinephrine in a device that looks like a pen. People that are allergic to bee stings normally carry it with them since it can save their lives.

Check out www.tempbreak.com. It has the same temperature charts as Terrafin, but for free. It is great that now everybody can have access to the charts.
