DORADO AND YELLOWTAIL FISHING GOING FULL
BORE IN WATERS SOUTH OF BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES

Aug. 5, 2005, Roger Crenshaw, San Francisquito, Baja California, Mexico fishing:

Dorado and yellowtail are in full bore at San Francisquito. The water temperature is 76 degrees. Wonderful, except the air temperature is 86-90.

The air is always cooler at San Francisquito than Bahia de los Angeles because of the upwelling in the Salsipuedes trench. The water drops off to 4000 deep feet very quickly and the turn of the tide will keep the water pretty nice all summer. We rarely get the 80 degree water. That is our big heat sump. However, get away from the water and you are over 100 degrees.

The dorado are in the blue water about 6 miles out on a 100 degree heading. However, they are moving in and have hit off the points close to shore. If you go out, try to troll the weed line or any floating object and you will get them. Most are in 12-pound class, but bigger showing.
