GAVIOTA FLEET AND FISH CABO WEEKLY FISH COUNTS

Feb. 18, 2005, Larry Edwards, Cortez Yacht Charters, Cabo San Lucas, Baja Sur, Mexico:

The "Fish Cabo", reporting for 3 Cabo San Lucas fishing days reflected 4 striped marlin released and 1 dorado; and the "Juanita VIII" reporting for 3 fishing days reflected 4 stripers released and 1 sailfish released.

The Cabo San Lucas Gaviota Sportfishing Fleet, reporting in for 27 fishing days, reflected 32 stripers, (27 released) 7 yellowfin tuna and 25 dorado (mahi-mahi).

Cabo San Lucas Climate: Partly cloudy days, temperatures from 63 nights to 80 daytime highs.

Water Conditions: 69 degrees water temperature inshore and from Cabo around to the Pacific side, climbing to 72 degrees at the upper edge of the Gordo and outside 20 miles.

Best Cabo San Lucas Fishing Area: 20 miles south of the arch to 15 miles outside Chileno.

Best Bait/Lure: Live bait was best in both areas.

Live Bait Supply: Mostly mackerel with a few caballitos, but an okay supply.
