THREE DAYS OF FISHING AT CABO SAN LUCAS
ON THE OLASCOAGA FLEET CRUISERS

Aug. 29, 2005, Pete Peters, Cabo San Lucas fishing, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

We fished in Cabo San Lucas last week with a group, including Jack Davidson from Torrance CA.; Jack's son, Fire Chief George Lane from Glendive MT; Jack's nephew, Fire Captain Jeff Bunch from Pollock Pines, CA; along with the Immediate Past District Governor of Los Angeles Lion's Clubs District 4-L3, Richard Selway of Redondo Beach; Art Zeller of Torrance; Dave Kanies of Winchester; Richard DeLeonardis of Hermosa Beach; Corey Delatori of Sherman Oaks; and my brother-in-law, Rudy Ybarra of Temecula.

We fished three days at Cabo on the cruisers, Blue Marlin, Blue Marlin 1, and Marea, owned by Luis and Roberto Olascoaga out of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and had a total catch including release as follows:

Tuesday, August 23rd, with 10 fishermen and 3 cruisers: 36 Tuna to 78 lbs and one Sailfish.

Wednesday, August 24th, with 10 fishermen and 3 cruisers: 4 Tuna to 75 lbs, 2 Blue Marlin to 350 lbs, one Wahoo, and 2 Sailfish.

Thursday, August 25th, with 7 fishermen and 2 cruisers: 10 Tuna, 6 Dorado to 40 lbs, and one Striped Marlin.

We got rained out on Monday, August 22nd, but all in all, it was another very productive trip in August. If you can handle the heat and humidity and are willing to take a chance on getting rained on, August is an excellent month to fish Cabo San Lucas. We'll go back again next year.
