DORADO FILLS IN FOR MISSED FISH DURING CABO TRIPLE MARLIN
HOOKUP ABOARD THE CHARTER BOAT FISH CABO I

Nov. 2, 2005, Larry Edwards, Cortez Yacht Charters, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur fishing, Mexico:

The Cabo San Lucas charter fishing boat "Fish Cabo I" reported this afternoon a triple striper hookup with one getting away. During the pandemonium, a dorado followed one of the stripers to the boat, they tossed in a live bait and landed the dorado, too. He says the fishing is really picking up on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas for the stripers with loads of mackerel on the olden Gate Bank. Their totals for 6 fishing days reflected 1 blue marlin released, 5 stripers released, 5 dorado & 1 yellowfin tuna.

The Fish Cabo, reporting for 5 fishing days reflected 1 blue marlin released, 6 stripers released, and 5 dorado.

The Gaviota Fleet reporting for 67 Cabo San Lucas fishing days reflected 3 blue marlin, 31 stripers, (16 released) 2 sailfish released, 8 yellowfin tuna and 65 dorado.

Cabo weather was mostly sunny & warm, with 71 degree nights to 99 daytime highs, very pleasant.

Seas were fairly calm on both sides of Cabo San Lucas. Temperatures varied from 78 degrees at Golden Gate Bank to 82 at the 95 fathom spot with a north-south break from San Cristobal of 4 degrees.

Best fishing area was the Golden Gate for the stripers and 95 for the blue's. Live bait for the stripers and root beer petrolero's for the blue's. The live bait supply was back to normal, following the Bisbee's tournament.
