SOLMAR FLEET'S TOP CAPTAIN FOR THE WEEK IS
CAPT. ADALBERTO AGUNDEZ OF THE SPORTFISHING BOAT SAN LUCAS VI

Nov. 10-16, 2005, Benjamin Ortega, Solmar Fleet, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Sportfishing Report:

Striped marlin fishing continues at a good clip in Cabo San Lucas sport fishing waters, 66 being caught or released by the Solmar fleet this week.

The total Cabo San Lucas catch this week by the Solmar fleet included 66 striped marlin, 32 released, two sailfish, 42 dorado, 33 yellowfin tuna, four blue marlin and seven jack crevalle.

Solmar Fleet's Cabo San Lucas sportfishing captain of the week honors went to Adalberto Agundez of the San Lucas VI. His passengers in six outings caught 13 striped marlin, 1 sailfish, 17 yellowfin tuna and 14 dorado.

Fresno, Calif., anglers, Al Smith and Dan Copeland, nailed a pair of Cabo San Lucas stripers weighing 132 and 157 pounds, plus five giant squid to 35 pounds and a 27-pound dorado. They also fished the Golden Gate aboard the El Torito.

Brothers Jason and Rudy Tatjana of Alberta, Canada, caught and or released four stripers on both live mackerel and orange and yellow lures, while fishing at Cabo San Lucas on the El Torito off the Golden Gate Bank.

A sailfish weighing 78 pounds, and two striped marlin released made the day for a Mr. Bukowski aboard the San Lucas IV on live mackerel at the Faro Viejo.

Craig Blair of Tulsa, Okla., treated his whole family to a day's fishing aboard the Cabo San Lucas charter boat Solmar I, and came away with two striped marlin and two dorado, all taken on live mackerel. They fished the Cerro Colorado.

Lisa Toller of Houston, TX made her day in taking a 187-pound striper on live mackerel at the Faro Viejo, while fishing the San Lucas IV.

Conte Victoria of Florida reported fishing a bit slow off the Pacific Ocean side of the cape aboard the Solmar VII. She said she caught but three yellowfin tuna weighing between 15 and 30 pounds.

Phoenix, Ariz., angler Leavell Davis released his only marlin, while keeping a pair of small yellowfin tuna that he caught on both mackerel and lures off the Finger Bank. He fished the Solmar IV.
