MIXED SPECIES LOCAL PANGA FISHING ON THE PACIFIC SIDE

Jan. 26, 2007, charter super panga Cheer's, Capt. Ramon Druck, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

Fishing on Sunday, January 21st:

I departed from Cabo San Lucas for fishing from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The weather was very nice, a little cool, but with good fishing results. We caught 17 sierra that weighed about 4 or 5 pounds and 4 dorado that weighed 8 to 17 pounds. We fished to the north of El Faro along the coast from Cabo San Lucas, and outwards about 1 or 2 miles from the beach on the Pacific Ocean. I fished with 3 passengers aboard the Cheer's, Michael Wilson, Terry Green, and Donna Green. They were all visiting Cabo San Lucas from San Francisco. The fishing water temperature was 71 to 73 degrees.

Fishing on Friday, January 26th:

The Cheer's departed Cabo San Lucas with just one angler, in improved weather conditions, with cool temperatures but with sunny skies. Our departure was at 6 a.m. We returned to Cabo at 12 noon. We had very good fishing for: 1 roosterfish with a weight of 2 or 3 pounds; 2 dorado with weights of 5 and 15 pounds; and 6 sierra with weights of 3 to 5 pounds. We caught the fish on the Pacific Ocean side of Cabo San Lucas north of Faro Viejo, at a distance of 4 or 5 miles from Cabo. The water temperature at the south tip of Baja California was about 72 to 73 degrees. The person fishing with me was Norm Gross.

This week at Cabo San Lucas, the Cheer's fished on just 2 departures because there are not too many vacationers here right now.
