A 200-POUND BLUE MARLIN LANDED ON
3 HOOKUPS OFF CABO PULMO AND PUNTA COLORADA

July 16, 2004, Bill Burkett, Fat Cat, East Cape, Baja Sur, Mexico:

Not much to report this week in the way of fishing. Fat Cat only fished one day last week. My wife, Silvia and I fished on Monday in the area of Cabo Pulmo to Punta Colorada. We had a great morning, catching one blue marlin of about 200 lbs. and loosing two others to pulled hooks. We were back on our mooring by noon, due to increasing winds and building seas.

With the first tropical storm of the season drawing near the peninsula and weather forcasts indicating lots of wind and rough seas, we decided to pull Fat Cat from the water. And, we're glad we did, as the East Cape weather was not that plesent last week. We had some rain, but quite a lot of wind. So, we spent the time cleaning the boat and doing minor maintenance.

We're ready to put the boat back in the water now. So, maybe next week we'll have a better fish story to tell.
