A TOTAL OF 42 BOATS COMPETE IN THE FIFTH ANNUAL
BISBEE'S EAST CAPE FISHING TOURNAMENT

Aug. 8, 2004, Rod Albright, Bisbee's Tournament, East Cape, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

We just finished fishing 3 days in the 5th Annual East Cape Bisbee. There was a total of 42 boats that competed in the event. Over the course of the tournament 72 billfish were released, most of which were blue marlin, there were also 3 black marlin released. Two marlin over 300 lbs. were weighed with the winning fish weighing 386 lbs. And the second place fish weighed 304 lbs. The team of KW Karma had the winner worth more that $140,000 U.S. dollars! The second place team fishing on the boat "Borracho" took home around $27,000 dollars. The largest tuna of the tournament went to team On-Site, a real nice fish at 197lbs. worth $7,000. The team fishing on the boat "El Tio" collected another $7,000 for their winning dorado weighing 44 lbs. This years event was held at the Buena Vista Beach Resort, and I would like to thank all of the staff and the Valdez family for a job well done. We will be back there again next year. The Bisbee family and staff did a great job also!
