BELOW AVERAGE FISHING DURING THREE OUTINGS
ON THE CHARTER BOATS RUDE BABY AND MI FANTASIA

Oct. 28-30, 2004, Paul Oldaker, East Cape fishing, Mexico:

Fished with Bruce Kelso of Denver, and stayed at the Hotel Playa del Sol.

Oct. 28, 2004: Super Panga named Rude Baby with Captain Lago. Went to La Rivera marlin grounds. Caught one 120-pound sailfish on a green/white plunger lure. Raised two others. Caught three 20-pound class yellowfin on blue/silver daisy chain octopus skirts. Saw some 50 pounders. Caught four small black skipjack on cedar plug, purple daisy chain octopus skirts, and a single pink/orange octopus skirt. Good Day for East Cape fishing!

Oct. 29, 2004: Cruiser named Mi Fantasia with Captain Dino and mate Jose. Went south to Los Frailes looking for wahoo. Caught two 10-pound yellowfin tuna on drifting live bait. Caught one 10-pound dorado on drifting live bait. Trolled for wahoo, but nothing. Long hard ride to Hotel Playa del Sol. OK day.

Oct. 30, 2004: Cruiser named Mi Fantasia with Captain Dino and mate Jose. Went north to Bahia de los Muertos and Isla Cerralvo. Raised one sailfish. Saw another and one hammerhead shark. Poor day!

Overall a below average trip. The winter winds have arrived early so generally rough conditions. Most hotel boats fishing at Frailes.
