ROOSTERFISH AND SIERRA MIXED TOGETHER
IN FISHING ACTION FROM LA RIBERA SOUTHWARDS

Nov. 20, 2004, Gary Barnes-Webb, Rancho Leonero, East Cape fishing, Mexico:

Another good fishing week at East Cape, with striped marlin, blue marlin, sailfish, dorado, sierra and roosterfish all being taken. Mild November weather, with cool mornings in the upper 60's and warm afternoon highs near 80, with some overcast, and mixed water temp 76-80 deg.

The East Cape billfish bite continues, with blue marlin concentrated 10 miles straight off Leonero, with striped marlin and sailfish mixed in. Most boats in the area scoring, with live mackerel presented to tailers working best.

Lots of school-sized fish everywhere close inshore, with some big bulls to 40 pounds lurking off the buoys at Punta Pescadero, taking mostly live sardinas, mackerel and hoochies.

Inside - Roosterfish active from La Ribera to the lighthouse, with some sierra mixed in, slow trolled live bait working best.
