LOTS OF EAST CAPE SPORTFISHING BOATS
COMING BACK WITH NOTHING THIS WEEK

March 18, 2005, Tim Selzer, Baja On The Fly, East Cape fly fishing report, Mexico:

At East Cape the fly fishing is definitely slow. We had south wind for three days, but it didn't seem to help the fishing. There are lots of East Cape sportfishing boats coming back with nothing. A few big dorado were caught, but there are no concentrations of any fish. The sierra bite has been good at La Ribera, but is over by 7 a.m. I went out a few days ago and landed one small dorado and a few skipjack; all on red and white. The shore fishing at East Cape has slowed down a lot. I have been catching a few ladyfish, but not near the numbers I was. I haven't caught a roosterfish or jack in days. The north wind picked up yesterday. Everyone here hopes it is the last blow of the season. The East Cape fishing sea water temperature was 67-74 degrees, and the air temperature was 64-71 degrees, with scattered clouds.
