WAHOO AND MARLIN CAUGHT DURING EAST CAPE TRIP
ON THE CHARTER FISHING BOAT CRISTINA

March 25, 2005, Rob Hixson, East Cape, Baja California Sur, Fishing Trip, Mexico:

I went out fishing today (Thursday) on the Cristina with Capt. Antonio and Salvador at Rancho Buena Vista. No dolphin, so no tuna. My oldest son, Rob IV caught a 45 pound Wahoo & a released a 125 pound Marlin. East Cape fishing area winds seem to be starting to pick up again. Another boat from here with a couple trying to fly fish had no luck with the choppy seas.
Yesterday, I went out 40 miles on Cristina and caught 16 tuna with my son James. The largest was 37 pounds.
On March 20, we had to go 25 miles out to blue water. My son, James who turned 12 on the 17th, caught his first Marlin. Sea's were a little rougher. This was our family's 41st anniversary going to RBV. My first time was in 1964.
