WHALE SHARK AND ORCAS REPORTED IN THE
EAST CAPE DIVING AREA THIS WEEK, APRIL 30, 2005

April 30, 2005, Mark Rayor, Vista Sea Sport, East Cape diving, Baja Sur, Mexico Report:

It was another very quiet diving week for us. It is kind of frustrating because the place is starting to go off and we hardly have anyone to share it with. We received reports of 3 whalesharks and a pod of orcas sighted this week but did not have tours to see them firsthand.

Peter Langstraat's East Cape report last week about gill nets and what I said is inaccurate. I do not recall ever speaking to him nor did I say my employees are restricted to reporting only in the marine park. Furthermore, for the record, they are not inspectors, but vigilantes who can file reports that PROFEPA is supposed to react to as if they saw it themselves.
