Summer is here and it is here to stay in the East Cape vacation area, and the water temperature is now stable in the high 70's, but it is becoming easier to find water in the 80's.

Even with some days getting up to the high 90's, most of the week was in the low to mid 90's with some breezes during the day, which made for a very nice hot week.

Our fishing distance has not changed much. Our East Cape sportfishing fleet will spread all over our beautiful bay, some days going as far as the Meganos Blancos, 38 miles aprox., to way North to the 88 bank, 36 miles, but you can as easily stay closer in and find about everything, as they did right in front of La Rivera on Wednesday.

Striped marlin continue to be seen as they haven't been seen in a long while, but this is fishing, therefore you can only get a few to get interested. Well, just check the numbers of them being caught and released, you can figure out that there are a lot of them around.

Tuna finally is being caught almost daily, some days going quite far to reach them, but others very close, again is all about luck.

Dorado, there are just a few around.

We love inshore fishing, quantity, quality and challenging if well managed. Roosters up to 40 lbs, and great pargo fishing, among other great things. Once again the most consistent fishing of all.

The bait situation this past week continues to be about the same way that it has the whole spring, but good thing we have ballyhoo as it is being used a lot. Early in the week, we had some boats going up Cerralvo Island to get some sardine, but that was just for a couple of days, then you didn't know for sure if you were going to get any.
