GOOD MEXICO FISHING TRIP AT EAST CAPE'S HOTEL LOS BARRILES

July 17, 2005, Ruben Tapia, East Cape, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

Team Modelo, Arthur Tapia, Bobby Osterheim, and I, fished out of East Cape's Los Barriles Hotel for 3 days of solid Marlin action. The first day was the best fishing I've ever experienced in my life. We had close to a dozen shots at stripers, as well as a couple shots at dorado and a swordfish.

We managed to catch 4 stripers up to 200 pounds.

Day 2 proved to be great as well as we spent 1/2 the day fishing for tuna about 2 miles out. This resulted in 4 to 15 pounds and finished off the day with a double hook up on marlin.

Day 3 was a little harder as we tried for tuna again but scored on pargo, cabrilla and whitefish. We ended the rest of this day with another double but this time they were sailfish. Much thanks to friend Jonathan Roldan for hooking us up at the hotel.

Total fish count was 6 marlin, 2 sailfish, 4 tuna, an assortment of smaller fish and memories to last a lifetime.
