LA RIBERA FISHING TOURNAMENT BOATS SPLIT $5,000 PURSE

Monday, August 15, marked the La Ribera Fishing Tournament. Held each year with the town's Fiesta days, this year's East Cape event was bigger than ever with 10 cruisers and 33 pangas. Winners split a purse of over $5,000 dollars. Seas were flat in the morning, water was 86 degrees.

First place in the panga division went to Leonel and Antonio Tamayo on Trinidad "Trino" Minjares' boat with a 303 pound Blue Marlin

First place for cruisers went to Esaul Valdez on the cruiser Dusty B with a striper at 72 pounds.
