BIG AMBERJACK AT 46 POUNDS CAUGHT BY LADY ANGLER AT LA RIBERA

Sept. 4, 2005, Russ Fritz, La Ribera, East Cape, Mexico Fishing Report:

This was a fine day of family fishing with my son Dan, his wife Sonya, and their son Jonny, as Sonya caught a nice amberjack that she didn't outweigh her by much. We also got 4 tuna to 27 pounds, a red snapper, and another nice amberjack.

East Cape fishing water temps 3 miles off la Ribera are 83 degrees, seas were very flat, and we had almost no wind. My son Dan had to put Sonya in a harness for her Pez Fuerte.

We filled the fish box with amberjack to 46 lbs, tuna to 27 lbs, red snapper to 12 lbs. East Cape weather and water conditions were as good as they get.

Live bait was plentiful, and the fish very hungry. This bite happened about 3 miles offshore in front of La Ribera and continued from about 0630 to 10 a.m. We were home before 11 a.m., cleaned up the boat and packaged the fish fillets by noon. After siesta, we delivered most of the fish to friends and families who are unable to fish.
