MIXED BILLFISH BEING CAUGHT BY SPORTFISHING BOATS AT EAST CAPE

Oct. 21-27, 2005, Axel Valdez, Buena Vista Beach Resort, East Cape, Baja Sur, Mexico Fishing:

Total boats out 108; Fishermen 304; Weather Low 80's-Mid 90's; Water Temperature 78-82. Catch including released fish: Blue Marlin 1; Striped Marlin 26; Sailfish 27; Dorado 10; Tuna 79; Roosterfish 5; Snapper 33; Amberjack 3; Ladyfish 1; Pompano 2; Triggerfish 14; Squid 10; Cabrilla 1; Skip Jack 12.

With such a beautiful East Cape fishing week, the water temperature very much stayed the same, we wish this week would continue forever. If you like not hot and not cold, this would be your week, nice evening breezes helped keep the days cool, but nice still nice and warm.

Fishing distance depends what you want to catch, that is what dictates how far you are going.

Billfishing has been great at East Cape, with some blues still around, stripers and sails going on.

Tuna fishing was far, and sometimes you find them sometimes you don't. East Cape had some good wahoo fishing also; you just got to fish for them. Otherwise you end up with nothing.

Inshore fishing has been great at East Cape, with big amberjack, some roosters and snappers, great inshore fishing.
