BUENA VISTA BEACH RESORT WEEKLY EAST CAPE FISHING REPORT

Dec. 30, 2005-Jan. 5, 2006, Axel Valdez, Buena Vista Beach Resort, East Cape, Baja California Sur, Mexico fishing:

East Cape sportfishing summary: Total boats out 13; Fishermen 41; Weather Temps Mid 70s-Low 80s; Water Temperature 76-79 degrees. Fish count, including released fish: Swordfish 1; Striped Marlin 5; Dorado 23; Tuna 25; Squid 3.

Felipe Valdez caught his first Swordfish, a nice 62 pounder, while fishing with Ramon on the Hakuna Matata. He went out to catch some sierras. What a day!

R.E. Hazard and Mr and Mrs. Falovolito fished on the Dusty B III with Captain Vicente Cosio and they were out about 40 miles south of the resort and they found beautiful tunas. The biggest topped 90 pounds, and the others were in the 50-70 pound range, not bad for wintertime.

Water Temperature is normal winter season water temperature, but fish seem not to care. East Cape had beautiful days last week, of course some wind, but our day temperature warmed to the mid 80s several days of this past week.

Early in the week we were fishing south to Punta Arena, but as the week got a little windy, our fleet started to go up north from South Point of Cerralvo Island to Punta Pescadero. We have big tuna for this time of year, 90 pounds, 70's pounder this past week. A lot of tailers as well, also several reports of sighting of swordfish. Sierra fishing inshore continues to go very strong.
