ALEJANDRO ROSAS BAJA FISHING REPORT FOR THE ENSENADA BOAT EL MAGO

Sept. 16, 2004, Alejandro Rosas, Marina Coral, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico Fishing:

I went to Ensenada and fished out of Marina Coral with my good friend, Rene Gonzalez, on the boat El Mago, with "Apache" Sanchez as captain. Ensenada fishing weather was perfect, no wind, the sea as calm as ever. Ensenada water temp about 72-73. We fished 16 to 20 miles from Todos Santos Island, Ensenada, on a southwest heading. The fishing couldn't have been better. Limits of yellowfin tuna from 35 to 81 lbs. Four dorados, the biggest one 20 Lbs. Limits of yellowtail, mostly firecrackers. Also bonitas, skipjacks and two mako sharks, lost two huge yellowfins that broke 60-pound test line. Must have been over 80 pounds. The albacore are gone. Nowhere in sight. This has been a very good fishing season for Ensenada.
