COASTAL RED TIDE STILL A FACTOR IN ENSENADA FISHING WATERS

Aug. 6, 2005, Ivan Villarino, Vonny's Fleet, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:

Ensenada fishing weather at Punta Banda is partly cloudy with patchy fog in the mornings, with a temperature range of 68 to 75 degrees. We have light breezes to 5 knots in the fishing area, ocean swells to 2 feet, and a water temperature of 62 degrees. Red tide is still a factor for fishing at Ensenada. The calico bass are starting to bite on swim baits now. Rockcod has been a fairly good bite this week, and we also saw a couple of firecracker yellowtail, and 2 nice sheephead. One of the sheephead was caught by our new Ensenada fishing captain, Hector Zamora, who is the latest addition to our Vonny's Fleet team of good Ensenada sportfishing captains.
