STEADY LOCAL ENSENADA FISHING ACTION FOR KCHTS SPORTFISHING

Oct. 8, 2005, Gerardo Sanchez, KCHTS Sportfishing, Ensenada, Mexico Fishing Report:

Inside Ensenada bay, the fishing action is steady with no changes. We are catching bottom fish and some barracuda at the island. At University Point fishing for sandbass is good.

Today we went on a tuna trip off Ensenada, all the way to the lower 500 spot, and a little in front. We got 5 skipjacks, averaging 20 pounds, on trolling feathers, and three yellowtails on a kelp paddy with flylined sardines. Other fishing boats got yellowfin tuna, but no luck for us. We saw schools of yellowfin tuna at GPS numbers 31.14 and 116.58, a big school, but no bites. The water temperature was 67 degrees.
