BONITO AND BOTTOM FISH AT PUNTA BANDA

Aug. 26, 2006, Ivan Villarino, Vonny's Fleet, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:

This week's fishing at Punta Banda had good bottom fishing for ling cods, rock cods, calico bass, and on the surface, bonita and 2 yellowtails.

On Monday, Barbara Bell and her son Steven W. Lewis, her daughter Cyndi L. Lewis, and grandchildren Darcey and Tessa Lewis from Davis, California, went fishing on our charter panga Vonny-I with Capt. Beto and on the panga Vonny-III with Capt. Hector, landing on the Vonny-I, 2 yellowtails and some rock cod, and the Vonny-III, limiting on rock cod and bonito.

On Tuesday, Jeff Daniels and his son from Campo La Joya went out fishing on the Vonny-III with our new captain, Vicente Flores, landing on the troll with Rapalas, X Rap Magnum, 30 bonito and one yellowtail of 18 pounds.

All the rest of the week, our fishing was for bottom fish and bonita, of which I will smoke some up for the customers tomorrow.

This week our Punta Banda fishing area had scattered clouds, with weather of 69-75 degrees, light winds in the morning, water temperature 66, swells 2-4 feet.
