ERENDIRA SPORTFISHING BOATS FIND GOOD SUMMER CONDITIONS

Aug. 22, 2004, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico:

For the week of Aug. 16-22, 2003. This week we had 21 boats go fishing at Castro's Camp. Water conditions were good with blue color, good clear water. The weather was good. We had light breezes of three or four knots. We caught this week 82 white seabass, 34 bonita, 37 yellowtail, lots of barracuda, and many bottom fish. We fished with frozen squid, salted sardines, and live mackerel, and many types of jigs, mostly chromed. The white seabass and yellowtail were caught 5 miles from Castro's Camp in six to eight feet of water, and the red rockfish and lingcod at 90 to 120 feet deep. During the week, we saw many schools of sardines and mackerel. Also on the beaches at Castro's Camp, we had many sea gulls and pelicans resting.
