BOATS AT CASTRO'S CAMP SCORE 6 YELLOWTAIL

Nov. 8-14, 2004, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Baja California, Mexico:

This week, Castro's Camp had 17 boats fishing. From Monday to Friday, we had a little wind in the afternoons and high clouds, but Saturday and Sunday were very nice days with perfect weather. We had no rain at all. The tides have been high in the mornings and low in the afternoons. On Saturday and Sunday, Castro's Camp had Santa Ana winds, and when that happens the sea becomes very calm. The water is 60 degrees and very clear blue, 3 miles from the coast. We caught many bonita and barracuda, six yellowtail, one small white seabass, and many red rockcod, whitefish, and cabrilla. For bottom fishing, we are using different colored Scampis, and different types of jigs for barracuda, bonita, and yellowtail, 2 to 3 miles from the coast. The rockcod are 7 miles from Castro's Camp and 140 to 180 feet deep.
