BAJA FISHING RUN TO FISH WITH CAPT. CONRRADO

Nov. 19, 2004, Alfredo Paullada, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico:

I've been fishing at Erendira with Capt. Conrrado for a few years, one weekend a month, and fished last on Nov. 6, 2004. Had a so-so day. Rained on the way in. Other than that, we had a nice morning, flat, no wind. We fished 180 feet deep and got some reds and assorted rockfish. Moved to deeper water, about 240 feet, and hit some big reds, bocaccio, lingcod, and huge whitefish. There were two of us and Corrado. In all my years of fishing all over Baja, I've never met a more consistent and dedicated fishing captain and a great fisherman from the heart.

I usually leave San Diego the day before we fish and stay in a little cabana. It has six bunks, a little kitchen with a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, bathroom with shower, and it is very clean. Conrrado has the biggest fishing boat in Erendira. I believe it's a 28 ft., roomy for 4 people. He has a GPS and fish finder which he knows how to use very well. I don't remember ever having a bad catch. If he can't find the barracudas, bonitas, or yellows, definitely, you'll get plenty of big rockfish. This past summer we scored on huge croakers up to 60 pounds, barracuda logs, I mean 8 pounds and up to 12 pounds.
