ROCKCODS AND ROCKFISH CAUGHT DURING BAJA FISHING TRIP

Dec. 14, 2004 John Carroll, Castro's Camp, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico:

I fished out of Castro's Camp at Erendira with a few friends on Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, for lots of medium-sized Red Rockcod and assorted Rockfish. We fished basically right out front of Erendira, about 3 or 4 miles out, in nice conditions until about noon when the wind came up a bit. It was a comfortable trip and fun was had by all.

We fished with Conrad's cousin, Victor Castro, and stayed in their cabana which is just to the north of Castro's Camp and next to Conrad's house at Erendira. The boat name was Uno Mas and it needed three different fuel pumps to get us in the water and two more once we were out fishing, kind of a bummer for my "Gringo" friends who are not used to "Baja" and the little things that "happen." Once again, fun was had by all and we will be back. This was my first trip back down to Erendira in five or six years. Before that I was down there for 12 years at least 15 times per year.
