FISHING DEEP FOR QUALITY MEXICAN ROCKCOD

Sept. 10, 2005, Chris Kugel, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

For those who forgot what big reds look like, a deep water fishing trip to Castro's at Erendira on Friday the 9th of September yielded great fishing. We fished in 350 to 450 feet of water, and were done in 3 hours.

All of the fish were quality. For those who enjoy deep water rockcod fishing, Castro's is the place. Just tell the skippers that you want to go deep water. Fish with 6/0 and 9/0 reels, Dacron or Spectra, 3-4 pound sinkers, and standby! The water was dirty, but both shallow water and deep water fishing were very productive.
