CASTRO'S CAMP SENDS 18 BAJA BOATS OUT FISHING

Jan. 14, 2006, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico:

This week Castro's Camp had 18 boats fishing out of Erendira. We caught red rockcod, lingcod, and whitefish. During the week, the weather was very good and the sea was very calm. During past weeks we had high waves, but these have passed and we were able to keep fishing during that period.

The water color is clear blue and the water temperature is 58 degrees 7 miles from the coast.

We continue to use the same equipment for fishing the bottom: scampis for the red rockcod, whitefish, and barracuda, and jigs of all colors and types. We continue to see bait in the water, and also we continue to be visited by pelicans.
