FISHING WITH CAPT. ADOLPHO GETS 6 ROOSTERFISH ON POPPERS

Oct. 31, 2004, Ed Kunze, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico Fishing Report:

Nate and Carmen Gills on their honeymoon from North Carolina caught six Ixtapa Zihuatanejo roosterfish on poppers while fishing with Adolpho on the Dos Hermanos. The previous night had rained hard, so there was no live bait available. I was discussing this potential problem with Adolpho while they were preparing to leave, and Adolpho just said "not to worry".

Other than that remarkable achievement by Nate and Carmen, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo fishing was pretty much business as usual. The 82 degree blue water remains close, 20 to 25-pound dorado are being taken occasionally, and the boats are averaging somewhere around 2 to 3 sailfish a day. Top it off with a smattering of yellowfin tuna.
