SOME DECENT CATCHES MADE IN GENERALLY SLOW FISHING CONDITIONS
Sept. 16, 2005, Stan Lushinsky, Ixtapa Sportfishing Charters, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico Fishing Report:
It was a slow week for fishing activity in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo. Still those anglers who ventured out were generally rewarded with some good fishing action.
Captain Jose Vargas on the La Maba was the hot Ixtapa Zihuatanejo sportfishing boat for this week. Captain Jose led Texas Angler Mathew Dear to a 3 SAILFISH day and Angler Partick Holway landed 2 SAILFISH on his first day offshore.
Captain Jose also landed a nice 25 pound wahoo for angler Antonio Gomez.
Captain Cheve aboard the Dos Hermanos 2, fishing out of Ixtapa Zihuatanejo with angler Paul Patirck landed 3 ROOSTERFISH and 1 YELLOWTAIL JACK. Fishing offshore with Angler Felipe Washington, Captain Cheva landed 2 SAILFISH in one day.
Captain Luis of the Grande Jefe fished 2 days with angler Jean Pascal and Angel Prado landing 1 ROOSTERFISH, 9 BONITOS and 4 NEEDLEFISH. They had many more shots at ROOSTERFISH but were unsuccessful in landing them.
Several other Ixtapa Zihuatanejo charter fishing boats reported good action on Wahoo and the Duquesa reported loosing a nice BLUE MARLIN. Ixtapa Zihuatanejo weather was sunny and mild, with calm seas and excellent bait supply.
