FISH COUNTS WAY DOWN DUE TO ROUGH WEATHER AND SEA CONDITIONS

Oct. 7, 2005, Stan Lushinsky, Ixtapa Sportfishing Charters, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico Fishing Report:

Bad weather and difficult sea conditions held over from last week and light angling pressure was experienced in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo last week. Only 2 Sailfish were reported landed during the week. Captain Adolofo Espinosa on the Dos Hemranos 1 did manage two inshore charters this past week landing 3 YELLOWTAIL JACKS, 16 BONITO and 4 NEEDLEFISH on 1 day, and 3 GROUPER, 1 PAMPANO, and 3 BONITOS on the other Day.

Captain Jose Vargas reported good light tackle action with Bonitos but none offshore on Sailfish. The bad weather caused power outages and lots of downed trees in the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo area. Historically the beginning of October is the end of the rainy season and we are hopeful this holds true this year.

We are still accepting reservations for this year's annual Ixtapa Zihuatanejo total Tag & Release tournament which is a qualifying event for the Rolex/IGFA tournament of Champions. This year's even will be held November 6-9th. Interested anglers are encouraged to contact our office for details or visit our web site at ixtapasportfishing.com.
