CHANGING WEATHER PUTS A STOP TO LOCAL FISHING

Dec. 9, 2005, Paul Phillips, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico Sportfishing Report:

Ixtapa Zihuatanejo fishing went from good to zero in a night. A weather front came a bit close and wham, nothing. We saw some sailfish but they wouldn't even look at a teaser. We were skunked for two fishing days. The second day didn't even see a fish. I think things will improve for next week. There are lots of fish. I don't know what is going on with them maybe the pressure change, maybe they are eating red crabs or maybe there are a bunch of squid downstairs. Had a decent couple hours on bonita with a silver bullet fly, no sierras, no roosterfish.
