LOTS OF MEDIUM-SIZED MAHI MAHI CAUGHT BY LAS ARENAS BOATS

Oct. 17, 2004, Gerardo Herandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing:

This week we had good fishing for mahi, not big ones, but medium-sized, about 25 to 30 pounds, and about the same on yellowfin tuna. We still haven't seen the big ones, although this week we were able to catch very nice pargo mulato of 15 to 20 pounds.

We also caught some striped marlin of 150 to 200 pounds. Las Arenas weather has been better, and is not too hot now, about 78 to 94 degrees. In our Las Arenas fishing vacation area, the water temperatures has been in the 80s. This week we fished in the area north of Isla Cerralvo around Las Cruces.

It was very good for dorado, as was our other fishing area around San Isidro and Punta Perico.
