WINDY, SLOW FISHING CONDITIONS HAMPER LOCAL BOATS

Dec. 19, 2004, Gerardo Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

We are nearing the end of the year, and this week has been windy, but we did fish on some days, for very slow action, for both sportfishing and commercial fishing.

This was because of the wind. In the entire week, only about 5 or 10 pangas fished on the Las Arenas side, including all the businesses together. But when we did fish on better days, we did catch sierra, pargo, and there are still some dorado too, in Canal de Cerralvo, and working toward the Las Arenas lighthouse.

The weather in the Las Arenas fishing vacation area has been between 62 and 70 degrees, and today, Sunday, we have clouds in the area.

The water temperature continues to be warm at 74 to 76 degrees in the area where we are fishing. On behalf of all the fishermen who live in the La Paz area, we wish a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.
