WINTER SEAS TOTALLY CALM AT LAS ARENAS

Jan. 22, 2005, Gerardo Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

This week in the Las Arenas vacation area we had a totally calm sea in our fishing area on Friday and Saturday, after several days of wind, and fortunately the fishing has been good, with sierra, pargo liso, and even some dorado (mahi-mahi), and for the commercial fishermen here, a good quantity of bottom fish such as red snapper (huachinango), and also cabrilla.

We continue, however, to have very few visitors, and only about five pangas per day are going out, including both commercial boats and sportfishing boats.

The weather is very good, 68 to 75 degrees, and the water temperature is steady in the 70s. The weather has been quite good, with some clouds and one day with a very small amount of rain, and we'd like to remind all anglers that we are here ready to serve you.
