MIXED FISH SPECIES ACTION STEADY ON LAS ARENAS SIDE

April 2, 2005, Jonathan Roldan, Tailhunter International, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

I'd have to say that although nothing was off the charts, we had a pretty good week of fishing at La Paz and Las Arenas.

Things perked up on the Las Arenas side and Cerralvo Island really produced some nice fish. Around the north end at La Reyna and La Reynita, yellowtail up to 40 pounds ate the baits and yo-yo iron with most fish in the 20-25 pound class size.

Around Muertos Bay, pargo up to 20 pounds and schoolie-sized dorado in the 15 pound class size were on the chew. Around Espiritu Santo Island, again, there's some chunky 30-50 pound sized roosterfish already up in the shallows.
