PIRATES FLEET SENDING OUT 5 TO 6 FISHING BOATS PER DAY

April 9, 2005, Leonard Phillips, Pirates Fleet, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

This week in La Paz we have had five to six sportfishing boats out daily. The fishing at La Paz was for good limits of Cabrillas and Pargos along the east side of Isla Espiritu Santo.

Emil Phillips, 90 years old of Norwalk, along with his fishing partner John Robert, 80 years old of San Dimas, went fishing and caught nice limits of Yellowtails, two over 50 pounds, out at El Rey.

Rod Ataha of Vancouver caught a nice 130 pound Striped Marlin off El Rey. Water Temperatures in the La Paz vacation area were 69-72 degrees, with air temperatures of 82-85 degrees, and winds blowing one day, and flat the next.

Earlier in the week, the north wind decided to show up. The brave souls venturing out were rewarded with good numbers of Cabrillas and Pargos in and around Espiritu Santo.
