DESEA ADVENTURES SPORTFISHING REPORT

Aug. 6, 2005, Andrea Tomba, Desea Adventures, La Paz, Mexico, Diving and Fishing Report:

Over the last three days, the eastern side of Espiritu Santo island has been providing most of the action for our sport fishing friends, providing mainly smallish Dorado around the 15-20 pound mark, but some larger 30-35 pounders in the mix. And watch for the big Marlins lurking in the schools.

This week we were honored by a visit from Hawaii’s Maui Sporting Goods representatives Kurt Taguma and crew, who immediately infected everybody with smiles and the Hawaiian love for life. Mahalo for your company.

They found La Paz diving and fishing water to be a little colder than expected this week, with temperatures quickly dropping to 72 degrees, rather than the expected low eighties. However visibility maintained a pretty steady 50 to 70 feet.

Although they saw a lot of pelagic fish in the water, especially in El Bajo where they came close to several Wahoo, Marlin and sailfish, these managed to keep elusive of their spears. Andy Tamasese managed to secure a nice 77 pound Amberjack, the makings of great Poke & Sashimi. Both Espiritu Santo and Cerralvo where plentiful of Cabrillas, Pargos and some monster Triggerfish.
