SPORT FISHING ACTION JUST SO-SO FOR CHARTER BOATS

Sept. 4, 2005, Jonathan Roldan, Tailhunter International, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

It wasn't the worst La Paz fishing, and it sure wasn't the best fishing, but almost everyone got fish.

One day it could be scratchy and the next fish boiled all around the boats in exactly the same spots for no apparent reason.

The biggest highlight was the appearance of yellowfin tuna for our Las Arenas boats. It seemed like only a matter of time since we started catching giant squid about a week ago that the tuna would hopefully follow up from the deep. Fish in the 10-30 pound class were only a short distance from Punta Perico south of Las Arenas.

Besides tuna we continue to have flurries of dorado although they biters seem much more scattered. However, marlin are really thick some days and multiple hook ups are the rule these days.
