PANGAS FISHING NEAR SHORE IN WINDY SEA CONDITIONS

Oct. 2, 2005, Dos Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

The La Paz fishing area has had some changes since our last report. As you know, Hurricane Otis impacted our state for several days, but without any real problems here, just continuous clouds and a little rain. The fishermen could fish in close-by areas around Punta Arena, because of the swells.

At the present time, conditions are greatly improving, although we still have clouds in the fishing area, this is not a problem.

During the last several days, the fishing was excellent, and we caught dorado, tuna, pargo colmilludo, marlin, and sailfish, all of them around the south point of Isla Cerralvo, in a fishing area called El Castillo.

For this fishing we used sardina and squid bait, the squid being found around Ensenada de los Muertos.

We hope the fishing returns to normal, little by little, over the next few days.
