LOCAL SPORTFISHING BOATS FIND A SLOW FISHING WEEK

Nov. 26, 2005, Jonathan Roldan, Tailhunter International, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

It was a bit of a slow week fishing-wise in La Paz. Most of the folks in town are vacationers for the holiday or snow birds already escaping winter. However, conditions probably couldn't have been nicer in La Paz. Air temperatures are in the high 70's to low 80's and water temperatures edged back up into the low 80's as well after taking a dip last week that I thought was the beginning of winter conditions, but I guess I was wrong.

As for fishing, the dorado still continued to bite for our La Paz-side sportfishing boats. These are mostly medium-sized 15 pound fun fish, but we also had some 30 and 40 pounders that made it to the fish box as well. A few of the La Paz boats went inshore and got nice sierra, pargo and snapper as well.

It looks like fishing on the Las Arenas side is still slow, so most of our fishermen have opted to fish on the La Paz side instead.
