LAS ARENAS SIDE BOATS FISHING OUT OF THE WIND FOR DORADO

Jan. 21, 2006, Jonathan Roldan, Tailhunter International, La Paz, Mexico Sportfishing Report:

The La Paz sportfishing area was quite a bit more windy than we'd have liked, but on the Las Arenas side, fishing well inside Punta Perico to stay out of the wind, we still got dorado up to 15 pounds which isn't bad for winter mahi.

Sierra are still abundant depending on whether you hit the right spot. It can go from zero to sixty if the fish move into an area and go on the chew.

The pargo lisa bit nicely too, with fish up to 12 pounds, but getting them to bite and getting the frustrating fish to the boat are two different things and many fish were lost back to the rocks.
