WINDY WEEK FOR LAS ARENAS SPORTFISHING PANGAS

March 3, 2007, Tortuga Sportfishing, Gerardo Hernandez, Las Arenas, La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

The Las Arenas sportfishing area south of La Paz had another week of constant north winds.

However, on the days when we were able to get out to Isla Cerralvo off the coast of Baja and get bait, our pangas had excellent fishing results for pargos, sierra, yellowtail, and dorado.

On Monday, we had a very calm fishing day. But Tuesday, Wednesday, and the whole rest of the week we had strong wind, and we had to cancel fishing on these days.

The pangas that did fish during times when the wind was not blowing had excellent fishing in the local area.

Anglers fishing with Tortuga Fleet this week included Bruce Burlison and Pat Moore from Salem, Oregon. They fished with Tortuga's Capt. Nufo Green and they caught yellowtail, pargo liso, dorado, and lots of sierra.
