STEADY FISHING FOR HOTEL OASIS ANGLERS

Oct. 21-28, 2005, Patty Zapata, Hotel Oasis, Loreto, Baja Sur, Mexico:

Fishing was good this week for fisherman at the Loreto's Hotel Oasis. It was good for Yellowtail and Sailfish.

We had the Dunagan Family visiting Loreto and they went fishing October 24th. They were out trying to catch bottom fish with not very much luck. They went 1 mile north Punta Lobos and finally did get a bite. After fighting for about 45 minutes they got a 105 pound Sailfish. For Jeff Dunagan, it was the first ocean fish he ever caught. They went with Captain Isidro Mendoza. Ben Dunagan, fishing in the same area and with Captain Martín Perpuli, also caught a 55 pound Sailfish.

Another group was going south to Catalana Island on Mexico's Sea of Cortez looking for Dorado and they saw the action was taking place 6 miles south of Carmen Island. Several anglers were there catching Yellowtail. They caught Yellowtail with an average size of 20 pounds.

Captain Martín Davis, on Thursday October 28th, took Nigel Turner & Andrew Turner fishing at the same place, 6 miles south of Carmen Island, and their catch was also Yellowtail with an average size of 20 pounds.

Mr. & Mrs. Ivan Davis were lucky too and the same day they caught 3 Yellowtail with Captain Isidro Mendoza.
